24 July 2026 – Body Type Add Up The Mysteries On ‘Tally’

Sydney quartet Body Type release ‘Tally’, their third album and a celebration of ten years together. Produced by Stella Mozgawa in Los Angeles, the record combines large jagged riffs, moody post-punk, flashes of sixties pop and a playful fascination with the surreal possibilities hidden inside ordinary life. Songs such as ‘Sick Bag’, ‘Mulberry’, ‘Planet 8’ and ‘Do You Want To Cry Your Eyes Out?’ move through romantic distortion, self-dissolution and the mystical significance of apparently mundane situations.

Body Type sound more spacious and assured than before, leaving enough room for wit to sit beside heavier emotional questions. The title suggests counting, taking stock and checking whether the last decade produced a useful total. The numbers may remain slightly unreliable, but the guitars have clearly been audited and found to be in excellent condition. Read more in Post-Punk Releases.
