24 July 2026 – IAN SWEET Becomes ‘Shiverstruck’

IAN SWEET releases fifth album ‘Shiverstruck’, a record shaped by industry pressure, the end of a long relationship and Jilian Medford’s return to Los Angeles. Earlier work often blurred the boundary between Medford and the IAN SWEET identity until the two felt inseparable. This album deliberately creates distance, allowing the project to become a character, mirror or weather system rather than a direct transcription of its creator. ‘Criminal Kissing’ captures that tension through reckless attraction and the familiar decision to repeat a mistake because breakfast together still sounds appealing.

Produced with Ben H. Allen III, the album combines guitar, piano, synths and emotionally exposed melodies without forcing every song toward a clean resolution. ‘Shiverstruck’ accepts that surrendering control may occasionally create better art.
