24 July 2026 – Nick Hakim Finally Says ‘I Can See’

Nick Hakim releases ‘I Can See’, his first album in four years and the result of material developed across a long period of personal and professional uncertainty. Early bedroom demos gradually expanded through sessions in Texas and New York, with longtime collaborators helping Hakim preserve intimacy while building a much wider sonic environment. ‘Endlessly Waiting’ and ‘The Reason’ previewed a record filled with spectral soul, electronic rhythm, organic instrumentation and Hakim’s unmistakably weightless falsetto.

Guest contributions from Moses Sumney and June McDoom deepen the vocal world without disturbing its dreamlike centre. The album examines memory, spiritual exhaustion and the sudden moments when the past becomes visible with almost painful clarity. Hakim’s music often sounds like an old room remembering everybody who once lived inside it. ‘I Can See’ turns on one lamp, but sensibly leaves several corners in shadow.
