19 July 2026 – Steve Lacy Answers Himself With ‘Oh Yeah?’

Steve Lacy releases 'Oh Yeah?', his third solo album and the difficult follow-up to the enormous success of Gemini Rights. Rather than attempting to manufacture another version of 'Bad Habit', Lacy leans further into psychedelic soul, guitar pop, R&B and emotionally complicated songwriting.

Collaborations with artists including Erykah Badu and SZA add new colour without overwhelming his distinctive sense of melody. The record moves between casual cool and much less casual self-examination, exploring fame, identity, relationships and the uncomfortable moment when youthful ideas about success meet the actual experience.

Lacy has always made intricate music sound almost effortless, although 'Oh Yeah?' reveals more of the work and uncertainty beneath that surface. The title can be read as confidence, disbelief or a challenge, which makes it ideal for an artist returning after a global hit.
